7. Use remote server(s)

When accessing an iRender’s remote server, you can check its device specifications to see if it’s exactly what iRender offers.

Note
Use the server as if it were your own personal computer.

Software Installation/Set up

To set up any software

  • Move its installer to the hard drive (C/Desktop).
  • Then proceed with the installation.

iRender has already provided installers of common 3D software and applications that are in X drive

In case you need a different type of software, you upload it to the remote server. We have already guided you on how to upload data in the Transfer files step.

Rendering

The time has come for you to leverage the ridiculous power of our CPU and GPU servers for your heavy tasks. We offer physical servers with dedicated configurations for 3D rendering.

Some tips that you should keep in mind for faster rendering at iRender

  • Before rendering, you need to move your data files to the hard drive. The hard drive (C/Desktop) is better at data recording and transmission speed than the network drive (Z drive). As a result, rendering through the hard drive is much faster and more stable.
  • You need to set the output path in C drive instead of Z drive. If the output path is in Z drive, you may get a problem of not displaying your rendered files. It is because while your project is being rendered, the rendered files may not be saved due to loss of connection.
  • After finishing rendering, you compress the rendered results in .zip format, then move it from C drive to Z drive. This process enables your results to be synced with GpuHub_Sync.
  • Remember to name the result folder different from other folders in the Z drive. This action will avoid the case that rendered files overwrite the original files causing data loss.
  • Deactivate your software licenses before turning the server off.

AI/Deep Learning Training

iRender also provides intensive GPUs for the training process of AI projects. Deep learning, simulations, and similar processes are a great chance for iRender’s server configurations to really earn their keep.
